The Enneagram is a personality system that describes nine distinct types, each defined by a core motivation, fear, and pattern of behaviour under stress and growth. Unlike MBTI, which focuses on cognitive style, the Enneagram focuses on emotional drivers — why you do what you do, not just how.
The nine types are:
- The Reformer — principled, purposeful, self-controlled
- The Helper — caring, interpersonal, demonstrative
- The Achiever — success-oriented, pragmatic, adaptable
- The Individualist — expressive, dramatic, self-absorbed
- The Investigator — perceptive, innovative, secretive
- The Loyalist — committed, security-oriented, engaging
- The Enthusiast — spontaneous, versatile, acquisitive
- The Challenger — self-confident, decisive, confrontational
- The Peacemaker — receptive, reassuring, complacent
How to explore it beyond reading about it:
Reading your type description is useful but limited. The Enneagram becomes more valuable when you explore it in relation to others — when you see how different types interact, where they misunderstand each other, and where they complement each other.
Know Thyself's Enneagram Edition (included in Expansion Set 1) brings this to life in a shared, structured format. Players engage with all nine types through card draws and questions, exploring how their type shows up — and how others experience them.
It's the most interactive way to go deeper with the Enneagram beyond solo reading and online tests.
