These are the rules of the Know Thyself affiliate programme. We've kept them short and in plain English, because we'd rather you actually read them. Joining the programme means you agree to them.

What you earn

$12 USD for every qualifying sale you drive. A flat fee, the same whether someone buys the Standard set or the Expanded Edition, and the same wherever in the world they buy from. Commissions are paid in US dollars.

Your audience gets 10% off using your own tracked link or discount code. Both are generated for you automatically when you're approved.

What counts as a qualifying sale

A sale qualifies when all of these are true:

The buyer is new to Know Thyself. Commission is paid on first-time customers only. If the buyer has ordered from us before, or is already on our mailing list, the order still gets the 10% discount but no commission is earned. We'd rather pay you for bringing us someone new than pay for a sale we were always going to make.
The order was placed within 30 days of the buyer clicking your link, or used your code at checkout.
The order is completed and not refunded.

If both a link and a code are involved, the code wins. Whoever's discount code is used at checkout gets the credit.

Commission is calculated on the product subtotal after your discount, not on shipping, and not on tax or VAT.

Codes can't be stacked. Your 10% can't be combined with another promotion, sale price or discount code.

When you get paid

Commissions are held for 30 days after the order ships, so returns can settle, then released for payout through GoAffPro via PayPal.

Refunds and chargebacks are clawed back. If an order you earned on is later refunded, cancelled or charged back, that commission is reversed. If it's already been paid out, it's deducted from your next payment.

What isn't allowed

These are the things that will get an account closed. Most of them exist because they cost us money without bringing anyone new to the product.

Referring yourself. Orders placed by you, your household, anyone who works with you, or a business you control don't earn commission.
Posting your code to coupon and deal sites such as Honey, RetailMeNot, Slickdeals, voucher forums or browser extensions. These codes are for your audience, not for the open internet. We check for leaked codes and will deactivate any we find.
Bidding on our brand name in paid search, or running ads that could be mistaken for our own.
Buying or spamming an audience. Unsolicited bulk email, comment spam, or traffic you didn't earn.
Misrepresenting the product by inventing claims, faking reviews, or describing Know Thyself as something it isn't.

Telling people you earn a commission

This one is a legal requirement, not a preference. In the US the FTC requires it, and in the UK the ASA and CAP Code do.

Disclose the relationship where the recommendation is, not buried in a bio or at the end of a caption. A simple #ad, or a line like "I earn a commission from purchases through this link", is enough. If we've sent you a free set, say it was gifted.

We'll take a look at your first post and let you know if anything needs adjusting. It's a friendly check, not a test.

Free sets

Approved affiliates with an active audience and a stated plan for what they'll make can request a complimentary set to create with. It's selective, not automatic on signup.

Staying active

If an account goes 60 days without a post or a sale, we'll deactivate it and free up the code. No hard feelings, and you're welcome to rejoin later.

The boring but necessary part

We review every application and may decline one without giving a reason. We can change these terms or close the programme, and we'll give notice by email before anything takes effect.

Commission already properly earned won't be taken away by a change to these terms. You're an independent participant, not an employee, agent or partner of Know Thyself, and you're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.
